Emmanuel Episcopal Church

At Episcopal Day School, nurturing each child’s spiritual growth is a key component in his or her development. Helping students to connect with their spirituality teaches them to see one another as God sees us – as beloved children of God. This “spiritual wellness” impacts each child’s character development in a vital way. Every classroom participates in the “Fruit of the Spirit” program, a Bible based program that highlights one value, or fruit, per month. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control are explored through a variety of methods.

The spiritual growth of our students is fostered by a close collaboration between Emmanuel Episcopal Church and the Episcopal Day School faculty. Twice per week, students attend Children’s Chapel in the church sanctuary. In Sacred Studies, children further explore Christian values, which is taught weekly by Steve Millender, the EDS chaplain and Sacred Studies teacher.  We welcome students of all faith traditions at Episcopal Day School.
