Pre-School News

  • Mrs. Bennett’s & Mrs. Thrasher’s classes had a visitor this week. Mrs. Pate came to talk about worms and helped them make their own worm bin!
  • The 3 years old would like to thank “Papa Bradford” for the wonderful wooden wagons with wooden wheels he made for each student. We had fun going on a wagon walk with stuffed animals in the wagons!
  • The 3’s had a great time doing “upside-down” art! They had to lie on their back and draw on the “under” side of the table!
  • After Care Students have been busy designing paper Easter eggs for our April bulletin board in the cafeteria. Hop on over and take a look!
  • On Grandparents day, the children in Miss Alice’s class entertained their guests with the play of “Little Red Riding Hood”.
  • Ranger Scott Hartley from Weymouth Woods Nature Preserve visited the PreK classes during S week. He brought a beautiful corn snake for the classes to see. Everyone touched the snake and learned all about the habits of reptiles.
  • Mrs. Yearby’s Pre-K class had a remarkable “R” week learning about rainbows, rabbits, rocks, rockets, and Little Red Riding Hood!
 
K-5 News

  • As part of a science unit, the 3rd graders dissected owl pellets. Each student used the bones found in the pellet to write a unique story explaining the contents.
  • The 3rd graders planted Red Emperor Tulips as part of an online international science project. The class planted 62 bulbs in December and are comparing results with schools all over the world.
  • The 2nd graders had lots of fun on SICK DAY. Everyone came to school wearing their pajamas, pretending to be sick, and sipping chicken soup for snack. They all felt much better by the afternoon.
  • The 5th graders just finished a geography unit learning how to spell all the states, their capitals, and their abbreviations!
  • The 2nd graders have been learning about geometric shapes in math. Each student created a geometric building using only geometric shapes. Then the class worked together to construct “Geometric City!”
  • 5th graders celebrated Dr. Seuss Day on March 2, 2009 by reading over 300 Dr. Seuss books!
