Jake Moubry

  • Name:  Jake Moubry

  • Year that you graduated EDS: 2014

  • Where are you in school or work now?   Union Pines High School

  • What do you miss about EDS?   The thing I miss the most about EDS is the amazing sense of community and family that comes with a smaller class size and amazing teachers. You really become close with the kids in your grade and have teachers that you can talk to long after you graduate.

  • Share some of your successes / accomplishments since EDS?   Since graduating from EDS I was awarded the Centurion Character award from New Century Middle, one of only two people from my grade. Throughout middle school I was also honored to be a part of National Junior Beta Club. In high School, I have been able to make great strides by being inducted into National Honor Society as well as being named Academic All Conference in swim and tennis. I have also maintained being top 5 in my class throughout my high school career.

  • Share organizations or clubs in which you have membership or support?  The organizations and clubs I am involved in include, Leo Club through the Lions Club of Vass, S2S which is a new student orientation club, Student Government, The Chartered Committee on Youth through the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina, as well as The ARC of Moore County. I am also deeply involved with Union Pines Varsity Tennis and Swim teams.

  • Share any advice that you have for current students or families at EDS.   If I had to give any advice to current students or families, I would say cherish your time at EDS. Go to every Awesome Autumn, Christmas Musical, and Picnic that you can. Spend time with you teachers and peers and stay connected. You will truly come to appreciate these special events and people when you arrive at the next stages in your life.
