Accelerated Reader Program
As EDS realizes its mission it seeks to engender life-long readers and learners. The Accelerated Reader(AR) program is based on the fundamental principle that practice improves reading. The program involves three simple steps:
- a student selects and reads a book;
- the student takes the AR quiz for the book; and
- the computer adds the quiz results to its database and generates a report for the student and his or her teacher.
A quarterly report is sent home for parents as well. This program is used by students in 1st through 5th grades. The books, popular amongst students, are located in a special AR section in the library. Click on the link below to access the database of all Accelerated Reader books and quizzes.
