The Country grows and expands westward. In math we’re expanding our knowledge of decimals. In English we are working with adjectives. Science studies are teaching us about the Earth’s layers and plate tectonics. They have also finished cursive and will soon be writing only in cursive. Math finds them busy learning square roots and multiplication in math. The STAR Math program has also started. We are reading about MLK Jr. and Civil Rights. In math we are learning the “doubles plus one” fact strategy. In addition we continue to study our letter units of K, L, M and N. The highlight of “K” week was our Kazoo Marching Band of Kings visiting Kindergarten!
