		<title>Fifth graders are studying formation of the US Government after winning the Revolutionary War.  The Country grows and expands westward.  In math we’re expanding our knowledge of decimals.  In English we are working with adjectives.  Science studies are teaching us about the Earth’s layers and plate tectonics.  In Reading we are working with literary elements and figurative language unit.</title>

		<title>Fourth graders are reading the Phantom Toll Booth.  Learning literal vs. figurative meanings.  We are writing biographies and working on adjectives in grammar.   In Science we are studying rock and minerals and in Math we are working on equivalent, proper, improper and mixed numbers and reading and writing fractions.</title>

		<title>Third graders are making maps of our community, reading Pippi Longstocking.  They have also finished cursive and will soon be writing only in cursive.  Math finds them busy learning square roots and multiplication in math.  The STAR Math program has also started.  In Science we are dissecting owl pellets and learning about Food Chains and Food Webs.</title>

		<title>First graders started off this month learning to make snowflakes and using a “First, Next, Last” flow chart to write about the steps we took to make them.  We are reading about MLK Jr. and Civil Rights.  In math we are learning the “doubles plus one” fact strategy.  We are anticipating the 100th day of school on the 28th.</title>

		<title>Mrs. Foster &amp; Mrs. Broughton’s kindergarten classes finished working on the first 26 phonograms and are beginning to use our pre-reading skills to read daily.  The word families are the source of our spelling words and we’ll be discussing winter weather and Martin Luther King Jr.</title>

		<title>Ms. Creque &amp; Ms. Yearby’s 4 year olds are looking forward to our annual “Muffins with Mom” event.  In addition we continue to study our letter units of K, L, M and N.  The highlight of “K” week was our Kazoo Marching Band of Kings visiting Kindergarten!  Our science units will include animals during winter, ladybugs, water cycle study, magnets and nature.</title>
