Music

Music at Music at Episcopal Day School is a multi-sensory experience where each child is given the opportunity to sing, play instruments,  move and create. Facilitated by music educator, Lisa Gessner, children discover that music is not only fun, it is also a lifetime adventure. Beyond the text book, Mrs. Gessner bases her instructional approach upon the jazz and classical traditions as well as the study of classical and jazz composers, and learning to read and write music.

Two special musical programs are presented during the school year.   Each December our Old Fashion Christmas Concert is held.  In the spring, the 3rd, 4th and 5th grades will put on a musical, which will be chosen by the Music Club. Music club is open to any interested 3rd, 4th or 5th grader and meets after school once or twice a month. The main purpose of the club is to take the music from our concerts and perform it for the residents of Penick Village.
