| The
Episcopal Day School has an exceptional curriculum which exceeds North
Carolina's state requirements and has been approved by the Southern Association
of Colleges and Schools.
Our
curriculum has eight essential components: an academic core, fine arts,
physical education, guidance, library, computer, spiritual enrichment,
and a resource program. The core subjects include communication (listening,
speaking, reading and writing) mathematics, science and social studies.
Fine arts include art, music and Spanish. The physical education - program
provides instruction for building a healthy body, mind and character in
every student. The guidance program is a developmental program which reaches
all students through weekly classroom visits by the school counselor.
The library program enhances the students' enthusiasm for reading and literature.
The computer program teaches the basics of technology and provides an additional
tool to be used in the learning process. Spiritual values and Christian
ethics are emphasized in the Chapel services, Sacred Studies and throughout
the school day.
The Episcopal Day School
has a resource program available to students with special needs. Our resource
staff works daily with children needing remedial assistance and those who
are academically gifted. The resource program is designed to help all students
reach their full potential.
