« Third graders are making maps of our community, reading Pippi Longstocking. They have also finished cursive and will soon be writing only in cursive. Math finds them busy learning square roots and multiplication in math. The STAR Math program has also started. In Science we are dissecting owl pellets and learning about Food Chains and Food Webs.
Fifth graders are studying formation of the US Government after winning the Revolutionary War. The Country grows and expands westward. In math we’re expanding our knowledge of decimals. In English we are working with adjectives. Science studies are teaching us about the Earth’s layers and plate tectonics. In Reading we are working with literary elements and figurative language unit. »

Fourth graders are reading the Phantom Toll Booth. Learning literal vs. figurative meanings. We are writing biographies and working on adjectives in grammar. In Science we are studying rock and minerals and in Math we are working on equivalent, proper, improper and mixed numbers and reading and writing fractions.
